Fashion: What To Wear To The Opera

I've noticed not many bloggers talk about what to wear to events and so I thought i'd show you all what I'd wear if I was heading to the Opera. I've always wanted to see an English National Opera show. I used to live with 4 music students during my first year at university and so I found out a lot about music then and they always loved a trip to the Opera. They recommended seeing The Queen of Spades Opera which I'd love to go and see. I think when it comes to posh events such as the Opera you have to make a real effort with your appearance but not look too polished. I think sticking to a simple monochrome palette for an event like this you can never go wrong. I love this check tie shirt dress and think it would look great with black tights and some block heels like this pair. You can never go wrong with a simple floor length dress or jumpsuit as you can accessorise the outfit however you want and they are such versatile pieces. What would you wear to the Opera?
