Lifestyle: 22 Things I Want To Do at 22

Friday, July 29, 2016

Today I’ve turned 22! Where has that time gone? I’ve finished my degree and it’s time for more adventures and making memories and so to start the year off to a good start, here’s 22 things I want to learn/do whilst I’m 22.
1. Don’t worry as much
As an anxiety sufferer, I genuinely worry about EVERYTHING. Literally everything. Overtime I’ve learnt not to worry as much, but I would like to worry even less because things will always work out in the end.
2. Do what you love and love what you do
Life is too short to be stuck in a dead-end job (if you can help it), which makes you unhappy. I think it’s so important to wake up every morning and really love your job/occupation. I’m focusing on my blog at the moment while I’m on the search for my dream graduate job. You’re at work 8 hours+ a day; don’t spend it doing something, which makes you unhappy.
3. Make a travel ‘to do’ list
One thing I love about my relationship with my boyfriend is I can say to him can we go to Amsterdam (or a certain place) and we’ll go and do it. Once I have found a job I love, one thing I would love to do is save up money and go on some more adventures as I really want to go to Budapest and Switzerland.
4. It’s better to have a few friends then LOADS of friends
It’s harder to make friends when you’re older right? I’ve always worried about friendships and whether you should work at them even if the other person isn’t as much, but overtime I’ve realised it’s better to have a few good friends you trust rather then 10 friends you don’t really trust.
5. Does anyone really know what they are doing?
Being a young adult out of education is a whole new world. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad I’ve finished my studying but I am so unsure with what’s next for me. I’ve noticed that so many people don’t really know what they’re doing or where they are going with life and that’s okay.
6.  Buy my own car
I would really love my own car and the dream car is a fiat 500 in grey and I can’t wait for the day I’m able to afford one.
7.  Read more books
I really enjoy books but I can never managed to switch off to actually sit and read books unless I’m on a sunny beach on holiday. One thing I would love to do this year is read more!

8. Learn to cook more meals
I absolutely adore cooking but when I have less time to cook, my skills aren’t used.  I really love cookbooks and my favourite cookbooks are Clean Eating Alice and Lean in 15 and I want to use them more over the course of the year.

9. Work harder on my content
Over the course of the next year I really want to work hard on my content. I find that some days I have really good ideas, some days I have no ideas and so I really want to get on top of my posts and making sure there is always a few posts scheduled!

10. Learn to love myself
It’s okay not to be a skinny size 8, despite wanting to loose a bit (yes a bit) of weight I don’t want to do anything drastic. I think it’s really important to learn to love your curves and flaws and this will lead to you becoming a happier person.

11.To enjoy being 22
I mean Taylor Swift wrote a song about it so 22 must be a pretty awesome year right?!

12. To be a qualified MUA/HD brows artist
One thing I’ve actually also been fascinated in is learning so many different skills. Who says you need to go to university and then stop learning? I would love to learn how to eyebrow thread and do HD brows or to be a qualified MUA as there’s something so therapeutic about applying make-up.

13. To have a clear out
22 will hopefully be a year of big changes, loads of positivity and exploring and so this means getting rid of all the things I like to avoid getting rid of!

14. Your career has only just begun
Education is over, it’s actually over and it is time to join the full-time working world and this is what you’re going to do until you’re about 65 (yes 65!) You’ll go through various stages in your career and it’s a pretty scary thing but I am super excited for it.

15. It’s okay to change your mind
Who has there who life planned out at 22?  It’s okay to change your mind when it comes to your career and career goals. You’ve got until you’re about 65 working so you may as well train yourself in a few things!

16. Make the most of weekends
I’m sure that once I’ve found the dream job I’ll want to make the most of the weekend.  I never really understood why people loved the weekend so much and so when the real working life begins, I want to really make sure I make the most of the weekend (not just nap even though I love napping!)

17. To start saving money
22 is the year a lot of things change in your life and one thing I’m really going to try and do when I am in a job is save money and opening a savings account and depositing some of my monthly wage into it to save for a car/moving out/car insurance and all those grown up adult things which are going to happen.

18. Step out of your comfort zone
It’s okay to do things, which would make you feel uncomfortable, as sometimes they are the best experiences. One thing I really love about blogging is being able to experience things I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.

19. To learn a new skill
My boyfriend always says that with your free time you need to do something different, whether it's learning a language, joining a class, reading a book, free time is YOUR time and you should do something knew. I would love to join a fitness class, but at the moment I'm really trying to get into reading more books.

20. To be EVEN more organised
To be even more organised is that even possible? When it comes to life related things I am a very organised person, my laptop is very very organised for one, as is all my blog related things. I would love this year to learn to be even more organised.

21. To drink more gin/white wine
When it comes to alcohol I love a good gin and tonic or a glass of white wine. This year I'd like to 'enjoy' alcohol a lot more so that means having more gin and tonics after a long day or enjoying white wine at the weekends.

22. To get into fitness
It's so easy to get stuck in a rut and avoid getting fit and i'm guilty of that, especially since now I'm not at university I don't have to walk everywhere. Right now I'm making more of an effort to get out and do more exercise whether it's walking my boyfriends dog or doing 10km on the exercise bike.

Im 24 and I still worry about everything, I think it's one of those things! I still don't know what im doing or where I want to go. I have been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places.

I get now why older people say they enjoyed their 30's more than the 20's!
