I never really realised how confidence boosting makeup was
until recently, recently being when I had less than 5 minutes to do my makeup
for work and I basically turned up to work with only my foundation and my
eyebrows drawn on.
It shouldn’t have affected how I felt during the day but it
did and so I thought I’d show you all, my favourite make up products, which
help me feel more confident everyday. Most of these products are Clarins ones, but there is also
products from Becca, Laura Mercier and Charlotte Tilbury.
I’ve never found a foundation quite like this one from
Clarins. I have to 100% honest with you all, despite being a loyal Estee Lauder
double wear fan, at times depending on weather etc. my foundation didn’t last
the way I wanted it to until now. This is 100% my new all time favourite
foundation and I am pretty sure I will be using this for years to come. This
foundation lasts up to 18 hours without needing to touch up your makeup too,
which is an absolute dream!
My skin has always been a little by dehydrated but recently it’s
been VERY dehydrated and this moisturiser has literally saved me from any
further skin issues. This is a new(ish) release from Clarins and I tried a
sample in a magazine and fell in love with it and have used it everyday since. I
use this before applying my foundation in the morning and also at night once I’ve
removed my makeup. I find this really helps as a base for my makeup too and it
makes me feel more confident in my own skin as it leaves my skin feeling more
hydrated and plump.
As much as I love my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer this Clarins concealer is slowly overtaking it. I love using this underneath my brows and on top to define them, under my eyes and on any point of my face where the light will touch it. I love the light optimising affect it gives and how it helps my skin look dewy. I can rely on this concealer to help hide my dark circles which makes me feel more confident and ready for the day!
One thing I like to do is build up my Boots points for a time when I really want to try a more expensive makeup product. I’ve heard so much about the Clarins summer collections through reading blogs and watching beauty video bloggers and I knew this year was my year. So at a time I wasn’t feeling so great about myself, I picked this up from Clarins and I’ve used it everyday since. The design of the powder is so intricate and the mirror inside the bronzer is huge so it makes it a perfect travelling companion as well.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - £32 from Cult Beauty
Despite Champagne Pop being the most well known shade of the
Becca shimmering skin perfectors, I feel like Opal gets just as much credit. I
snapped this up at Christmas in a cult beauty box as the box included this,
Pixi glow tonic and a few other pieces for only £60 (when it was worth about
£150!). This is an absolutely stunning pearl shade and it would work for any
skin tone. I reach for this on a daily basis, as it’s easily buildable. I love
using this before reaching for my powder to set my make up as who doesn’t want
to look super glowy and highlighted?!
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder - £29 from Feel Unique
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick - £24
If you buy one thing from reading this post, I would 100%
make it this one. It’s not because the other products aren’t amazing, it’s because
this powder is absolutely incredible and is one of the best makeup products I’ve
ever used. One thing which has always made me not feel confident is my under
eye area, when I put makeup on I’m scared of it not staying on all day and this
powder has changed the game for me. I use the smallest amount of this powder
all over my face with a little extra powder for under my eyes.
One thing I’m trying to do more is wear more lipstick. I
probably wear lipstick every other day but now I’m trying to wear it everyday
as it makes me feel like I have my life that little bit more in check. This
shade from Charlotte Tilbury is heavenly and it’s a gorgeous pink toned nude,
which suits all skin types and tones. If you’re looking for a higher end
lipstick I would 100% recommend trying this out!
These are all products I use on a daily basis and ones I
reach for especially for when I’m at work and I want to feel comfortable but
confident at the same time. I also have drugstore favourites, which I reach for
too, my mascara and the brow products I use are all high street products and I
alternate my lipsticks too as I don’t use my Charlotte Tilbury ones everyday!
What make up do you use to help boost your confidence?
