If I’ve had a bad week (or sometimes just a bad day) and
there are points on my Boots advantage card, I will NOT be responsible for my
actions… (Says the girl trying to save up to buy a house) but without a beauty
haul would I even be beauty obsessed with a beauty blog? I think not.
This is a result of about 2 boots trips over the past month
and I’ve found some products I absolutely love and also some products I am not
100% keen on and so I thought I’d put them together and let you all know my
thoughts!
Bourjois Brow Duo Sculpt Pencil - £6.99
If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ll know I am a huge
fan of 2 in 1 (well multiuse) products. Also, if there is one area of my face
that I like to take extra care of it’s my brows and so I was desperate to try
this out. Due to picking up a Bourjois concealer and translucent powder, this
was part of a free gift set! Seriously though, who doesn’t love a gift with
purchase?! I’ve used this a few times now and I’m pretty impressed. I think I
am more of a brow pomade girl but the highlight part of this pencil is
stunning!
If there’s one thing NYX as a brand are famous for, it’s
glitter. I think one of their most famous products is the glitter primer and
their glitter pigments. I’ve been a fan of the glitter primer for a long time
as no matter what shimmer eye shadow I use, the glitter primer helps the
product stay on and look more intense. I’ve made a new edition to my NYX beauty
collection as I want to try out a glitter rather than just a shimmer eye shadow
and I am obsessed with this shade, which is copper. I think this shade is
perfect teamed with pretty much any eye shadow in the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette.
I’ve been the biggest fan of more ‘solid’ concealers lately
including the Benefit Airbrush Concealer and the Nars Soft Matte Concealer that I’ve
started to miss more liquid based concealers. I am not 100% sure how I feel on
this concealer just yet, but I’m going to give it a few more tries as I bought
this to use it to brighten up my under eye area.
Okay so hands down this is 100% the best product in this
haul (and that’s a bold statement!). I have always struggled to achieve the ‘natural’
brow look with a pomade until now. I love my Anastasia Beverly Hill Dip Brow Pomade but if you want a product to look more natural, then this is the product
for you. This pomade easily allows you to create a light and natural brow but
also a dark and sculpted brow and it’s a great edition to any makeup
collection. Also, it’s a good edition if you’re looking for a more budget
friendly brow product.
In contrast to the brow pomade from L’Oreal, I am not sure
whether I love this product from Bourjois just yet. Despite being a bit of a
beauty addict, I’ve never tried the rouge edition velvet lipsticks from
Bourjois! I love the colour as it’s a bit like a red and a nude shade mixed
together, but the only downside is I think this shade doesn’t match well
against my skin tone and that the product isn't matte enough to stay on all day.
Despite having some real mascara favourites at the moment I
thought I’d never replace, I actually have really liked using this mascara. I
still love the Benefit Roller Lash, Too Faced Better Than Sex and the new L’Oreal Paradise one though! I have called this my ‘on the go’ mascara and it lives now
in my on the go makeup bag which I keep in my car, handy ey? You know for those
times you go out with no make up on and end up bumping into everyone you know
times!
Bourjois Poudre De Riz De Java - £9.99
The award for the most gorgeous packaging in this haul for a
product definitely goes to this Bourjois powder. I have seen this powder
numerous times on Instagram posts and read a few reviews about this powder too.
I decided to pick this up as I was looking for a more ‘budget friendly’ version
of the Laura Mercier translucent powder and this one isn’t doing a bad job so far! This
powder has been a cult classic for Bourjois since 1879 so it must be good
right?! At the moment I like using this to set my concealer to add more
highlight to my eyes and make myself look more awake!
If there’s one brand I am seriously obsessed with it’s
Clarins. I love their skincare products, makeup remover, concealer, blusher,
bronzer, foundation and you guessed it, pretty much everything the brand brings
out. However, I am yet to have a full opinion on these masks as I’ve only
tested out one of them, the hydra face mask.
If you’ve not seen these in Boots yet, they are a new launch
from Clarins. I picked these up with my Boots points (I absolutely love it when
you have enough Boots points to buy a product!). The masks each aim to tackle
skin in a different way, the mask I’ve tried , the hydra mask aims to rehydrate
skin but also leave it feeling plump and smooth.
The SOS Pure Face Mask is a purifying mask that leaves skin
toned, matte and rebalanced and the SOS Comfort Face Mask aims to nourish your
skin. I do prefer my new Kiehls mask at the moment, but I’m going to give these
masks from Clarins a full testing out.
What do you think of my recent beauty buys? Have you tried
out any of these products?
