I really genuinely can’t believe that August is over, in fact
that we’re a week into September! I don’t know where this year is going.
However, I always have time to try out new beauty products so I love rounding
up the month with a favourites post. This month’s favourites include some old
faves and some new ones so hopefully this post will help you discover something
new.
If you’re up to date with my latest blog posts, or that you
follow me on Instagram you will know that I’ve got a bit of an obsession with
Kiehls products. I have found that their products have helped save my skin. I
used to have super dry skin and now it feels plump, radiant and even my
boyfriend’s friends have commented on how ‘good’ my skin looks. So that must
mean that it’s working right?
Onto the cleansing oil, this oil is incredible and helps
remove my make up so easily. I use 2 pumps of this every evening on my skin to
remove my makeup and I find that this cleansing oil removes even the most
difficult mascaras, which makes me love this oil even more.
A newer edition in my makeup collection, this sponge turned
up in the
post one day and now I adore using this. At first I didn’t
really understand this silicone sponge trend online but now I love it. I find
that this sponge is amazing with cream products. I love using this to blend in
illuminators, hydrating creams and sometimes to apply liquid concealer.
I always feel slightly uneasy when I receive anything
foundation/base wise in the post but this shade of the new BareMinerals Bare
Pro Performance Foundation is my PERFECT shade. I have been a huge fan of the
Clarins Everlasting Foundation for a long time now so it was great to be able
to trial out something new.
This is a completely new foundation to BareMinerals
and is available in over 30 shades, the dream right? At the moment this is the
only foundation I reach for and I find that this is super easy to apply, it’s
buildable and it also lasts all day on my skin, even when I forget to use a
powder/makeup setting spray.
As you can see from the photo above, I LOVE this concealer.
This is a pretty recent release from Benefit and I remember picking up this
airbrush concealer in shade medium (no.2). I found that the texture of this is
like a soufflé, it’s very whipped and it blends onto my skin like a dream. I
use this to conceal under my nose but also under my eyes and it leaves my skin
looks hydrated and hides my dark eye circles like a dream!
NARS Soft Matte Creamy Concealer in Macadamia - £24 from ASOS
I never used to be a fan of concealers in a solid form but I
absolutely adore this NARS concealer. This concealer is great if you want to
achieve a quite natural look as it blurs imperfections, conceals blemishes and
is made of an oil free formula so it glides on like a dream. I really enjoy
using this to cover any surprise spots or to add structure to my eyebrows and
define my brows once I’ve filled them in. I’ve used this constantly for about 3
months now and it still looks like I’ve barely used any of it!
Essie Nail Polish in Bare With Me - £7.99 from Boots
This nail polish has been in my favourites before a few
months ago and I am still VERY obsessed with it. I think this is the perfect nude
shade, which also is slightly peach in the colour too. I really like using
Essie polishes as I find that they last the longest on my nails. I find with
these polishes that I only need to re-do my nails about once a week (sometimes
they last a little longer!)
Iconic London Illuminator in Original - £32.99 from Cult Beauty
I remember coming across the brand Iconic London on
Instagram and not thinking that their products were real as I didn’t understand
how a highlighter could look THAT good. Until the day I splurged and picked one
up on an offer about Christmas time. I didn’t use this straight away
surprisingly (no idea why) but it’s been a gradual favourite of mine these past
few months. The smallest amount of this highlighter goes a long way and I find
that on days where I don’t wear much make up this highlighter/illuminator gives
my skin the perfect natural glow.
NARS Liquid Illuminator in Copacobana - £24 from ASOS
This illuminator from NARS has been a favourite of mine for
a long time, as you can see from the photo this illuminator is well loved! I
love using this mixed in with my foundation to create a more dewy look. I also
love using this as a highlighter on my cheekbones and blending this in with a
beauty blender as well.
What do you think of this month’s favourites? Have you tried
out any of these products? Do you have any product recommendations?
