If there’s one thing I’ve
been really into lately it’s liquid highlighters and when I saw that Barry M
were releasing a range of liquid highlighters I knew I had to try them out.
However, I didn’t realise how close they were as dupes for two liquid highlighter
favourites I already own…
So I bet you’re wondering, why do I love cream/liquid
highlighters? I find them a lot more wearable than powder highlighters as they
give a much more ‘natural’ effect. On no makeup days, I love mixing a couple of
drops of this with my Kiehls moisturiser and on make up days I love mixing them
with my foundation to create a dewy look. I also love using the highlighter over my foundation base to create the perfect amount of glow.
When comparing these two highlighters together, I do prefer
the NARS Copacabana as it blends in more like a cream but the Barry M ‘At First
Light’ is a lot more like a highlighter as it’s more intense. I think on no
makeup days NARS Copacabana is great as a base but when it comes to mixing
highlighter and foundation together, you’ll get a more noticeable result from
the Barry M highlighter.
Another dupe you say? Both these highlighters come in at
under the price of NARS Copacabana and the Iconic Illuminators so even more
reason to treat yourself to them and if you buy them on ASOS (through the links
above) you can get a further 10% if you’re a student too!
As you can see these shades are both incredibly similar and
I actually think I prefer using the Barry M highlighter as it is easier to
build up and to create a more intense and defined look.
What do you think of these highlighter dupes? Will you be
picking these up?
