I feel like I’ve been away from the blogging world for ages
but it’s been just under 2 weeks. 2 weekends ago I took a day off work and went
on a long weekend with my boyfriend up north and the day after we returned from
that break we went away for a weekend in Santorini and if you follow me on
Instagram, you’ll have seen a few holiday shots already!
When it came to packing beauty products for my holiday, It
was SO hard (literally) to minimise my beauty collection as I like to think
that everything can come with me… so after booking a hold bag on the plane
instead of just our usual hand luggage, I kind of went to town with products I
needed to last the week. On the more relaxing days of the holiday the ‘pool/beach’
days I wore minimal make up and here’s the 5 make-up products I reached for on
my trip.
Caudalie Anti Ageing Suncare SPF 30 - £18
I have to admit; I have not been
the best on holiday in the past for using SPF products on holiday for my face
(other than a foundation with SPF) until I discovered this cream. It’s got
protection of SPF30 and I have used this as a base for my makeup but sometimes
just on it’s own when I haven’t worn makeup during the day/by the pool/beach
etc.
When I have minimal makeup on, I
like to re-apply this every couple of hours, especially when it’s a warm day.
What I like about this cream is it doesn’t stick to your hands and when you’re
applying this is comes across as more of a moisturiser than a sun cream.
Whilst I was away in Santorini,
after applying the Caudalie face cream, my only base option was this foundation
from Clarins. I am a huge fan (as I am sure a lot of you will already know) of
the original everlasting foundation by Clarins and so this cushion foundation
is a perfect alternative and it’s easy to build up the coverage you want to
achieve and has SPF 50! (Yes!)
Loreal Paris Paradise Brow Pomade in Brunette - £9.99
Aside from my base makeup, the first thing I do in my
make-up routine is sort out my brows. I find that they really frame my face and
also, that I feel a little bit last if I haven’t drawn them on in the morning.
I love using this pomade as I find that it matches my skin perfectly, and (FYI)
I have only used this pomade since I picked it up in Boots a couple of months
back, I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS.
Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium Brown (03) - £20 from Cult Beauty
What’s the point of filling in your eyebrows without using a
gel? I genuinely think that this gel from Benefit is one of the best around for
eyebrows (even though I haven’t tried the Glossier Boy Brow yet) and I find
that whenever I use it my eyebrows literally do not budge! That’s what you need
for a day by the pool, eye brows which don’t move because you always have to be
picture ready right?!
Lastly, probably my favourite make up product of the WHOLE
holiday and it’s this gorgeous illuminator from Iconic London. I absolutely
love using this on my face (and body) to create a glowing look. I find that a little product goes a long way
with this illuminator as I have only had it about a year. When I was wearing
very minimal make up (just a sheer foundation and my brows) this illuminator
helped me achieve a perfect glowy look.
