February has been a good month for make up. I’ve noticed
that their has been so many exciting releases and I think this has prompted me
to try something new but also vary up the products which I use on a daily basis
from my make-up collection. This months February favourites includes Mario
Badescu, Kat Von D, Bare Minerals, Benefit, Charlotte Tilbury, Jouer, Nars,
Milani and Glossier.
What surprised me when I was photographing my favourites for
this post is how there are a lot more high-street brands in my round up. I normally
have a favourites post which is more geared towards premium prices but there’s
a few products in here which are under £10!
Anything that has the words radiance or glow in the title
immediately grabs my attention and this primer just looked like something I
would love. It helps minimise pores and makes you look glowy at the same time,
what else do you need from a make-up product? This can be worn alone (this
would be perfect for when you’re on holiday in the sunshine) or you can wear
this under foundation.
I’ve spoken about this foundation numerous times on my blog
and that’s because it’s been the only foundation I’ve used for a fare few
months now. This foundation provides a
natural looking coverage, makes you look super glowy and it also provides SPF
20 sun protection and is heat resistant and sweat resistant (which is a dream
if you’re a gym goer like myself). Whenever anyone asks me what foundation I
reach for this is the only foundation I tell them about. If you’re looking for
a foundation to solve all problems, I’d suggest you purchase this as soon as
possible.
Aside from occasionally using my Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade (on the odd occasion) this pencil is the only thing I’ve been using
on my brows. I find it helps me achieve a really natural but defined look and
the shade 4 matches my eyebrows perfectly.
First of all, this concealer is available in 16 shades (how
good is that?!) which means there is a shade which is perfect for pretty much
any skin tone. I did think that £24 is a huge amount of money for a concealer
but I am pretty convinced that this concealer is everlasting. I have had this
for around a year now and you can still see that there is so much left. I use
this to cover up any spots, dark circles but also to carve out my eyebrows when
I use a brow pomade.
This blusher from L’Oreal is probably the newest edition in
my make-up bag and I absolutely love it. Ever since owning the Charlotte
Tilbury contour and highlighting wands I’ve become fixated with cream products.
This shade of blush (as you can see from the swatch photo above) is the perfect
shade for my skin tone and it gives such a gorgeous natural look.
When I am not wearing the L’Oreal cream blush stick, this is
the blusher I’m wearing. I love the shade of this blusher and how it looks
against my skin tone. First of all, I love the packaging of this product and how
aesthetically pleasing this is. You only need a little bit of this as it goes a
long way.
Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand - £29 from John Lewis
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand - £29 from John Lewis
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know all
about my love for these two products from Charlotte Tilbury. I have used both
of these everyday without fail. They can be used to create such a natural glowy
look or they can be layered to create a more dramatic look.
Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette - £37 from Debenhams
*Spoiler alert* I’ve only actually used the warmer toned
side of this palette. However, despite saying that the warmer shades in this
palette are some of the best eyeshadows I have EVER used. I love using the
light cream shade as a base tone, the nude/peach shade to add depth, the
burgundy shade in the outer corner and the dark brown to add definition. I
absolutely love these shades and after a little while of not using this, I’ve
now fallen back in love with this palette.
Jouer Cosmetics Long-Wear Lip Creme in Noisette - £15 from BeautyBay
This might just be the prettiest nude liquid lipstick I own.
I’ve never tried anything from Jouer cosmetics before but I am sure I’ll be
trying a lot more from the brand, as this lipstick is INSANE. I wear it
everyday for work and it’s kiss proof, tea drinking proof and you don’t need to
worry about topping this up during the day.
Every time I watch a YouTube video by a beauty influencer,
this product is mentioned and I thought while Beauty Bay had 25% off (when you
spend £30) I decided now was the time to make a purchase. This is a hydrating mist, which is suitable
for all skin types. This mist lightly refreshes your skin without feeling heavy
on the skin. After reading a little bit more about this mist you can even use
it on dry hair as a moisturiser, amazing right?! I am sure I’ll be repurchasing
this again and again…
