I have a primer I use when my skin is looking dull and needs
a boost of hydration, a primer for when I’m going out and I don’t want my
make-up to budge. A primer to leave my skin LITERALLY GLOWING as well as a
couple I haven’t quite made my mind on yet. What I find strange about make-up primers is that up until a
couple of years ago, we all never bothered with primers but now they are one of
the most talked about make-up products! So here it goes… my top 5 make-up
primers and reasons why I love them!
Fenty Beauty ProFilt’r Instant Retouch Primer - £24 from Harvey Nichols
Who wouldn’t want to have make-up like Rihanna? Okay so
maybe not actual Rihanna but that’s partly why I bought this primer. I’ve heard
so many good things about it online and it’s not disappointed me so far. By the
end of the day my foundation still looks the same as when I first applied it
and there’s a slight shimmer in this primer which leaves your skin looking
SUPER glowy as well as minimising the appearance of pores.
YSL Touche Eclat
Blur Primer - £29.50 from Debenhams
This primer is known as my ‘special occasion’ primer as this
only tends to get used when I want to feel super confident about my skin or
when I have an important event. This is a blurring and illuminating fluid gel
face primer, the only thing I am not (as big) of a fan of is the slight
silicone feel that this primer has. This primer is ‘light-infused’ and will
help even the look of your skin tone as well as smooths it. I would recommend
this primer if you’re a fan of silicone style products but also if you’re on
the hunt for the primer which makes your skin look FLAWLESS.
Too Faced is a brand I’ve not delved much into, aside from
their eyeshadow palettes but now they’re on ASOS I can see this being very bad
for my bank balance… This primer is designed to hydrate and boost your skins
radiance and it smells of coconut! I’m testing this one out at the moment so I
don’t have a full review on how it performs but I’m enjoying it so far!
This primer is SO underrated in the beauty blogging world
and I’m not sure why as its AMAZING. If you’re the kind of girl, like me, whose
skin is sometimes super dry and you want to minimise the steps in your daily
make-up routine then you’ll love this primer as it’s a moisturiser and primer
IN ONE. I’m on my second bottle of this now as this is my ultimate go to on a
day I’m running out of time or for when I’m on holiday and I need an extra
boost of hydration adding to my skin before applying make-up.
Clarins BeautyFlash Balm - £32 from Boots
Can you believe I’ve gone through not one but nearly 3 of
these Beauty Flash Balms from Clarins? This primer has been my ride or die for
what feels like 3 years but it’s probably nearer to 4 years now! A tube of this
will last you forever and I always cut off the top of the tube and you get
about another 7-14 uses out of it!
However, onto the primer… it’s suitable for
all skin types and is the ultimate quick pick me up for tired, dull, lacklustre
skin. This balm instantly moisturises, brightens and tightens your skin,
leaving the perfect base for foundation. I think this is a product I’ll be
using till I’m old and wrinkly I love it THAT much.
So to summarise, If you’re looking for an all round amazing
product it’s the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, if you want to try something new
it’s the TooFaced Primer, if you want to feel super glam with your make-up it’s
the Fenty or YSL primers and then if you’re feeling lazy it’s the Smashbox
primerizer.
What do you think of these primers? Have you tried any of
these products before?

The only one of these that I haven't tried is the Fenty - I love the others, particularly Clarins Beauty Flash Balm! xx
Thanks you for sharing these great suggestions!

I actually don't use primers very often even though I know I have the Clarins one in my stash somewhere. I need to change this routine and start using them more often. I'm especially intrigued by the Smashbox option as it sounds great for my dry skin xx
Beauty with charm
The Flash Balm from Clarins was my very first primer. I loved it but it's so expensive now. I plan on trying the Hangover very soon! Xx
