So what beauty products SERIOUSLY rocked my 2018? Well here’s the post in which you’ll find out all about the products that I’ve fallen in love with and would repurchase again and again and some of these products I have repurchased (2-3) times already as I just can’t cope without them! So we’ll start with each product in order of how I’d apply them on my face… so It’s all about that base firstly…
Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer - £30 from Boots
This primer from Smashbox has been a favourite of mine for a long time and this is actually my second one of these I have gone through. What’s great about this primer is that it’s a primer and moisturiser in one. I mean who doesn’t love a multi-use product? I love using this especially when my skin is feeling a little more on the dry side and is lacking the moisture it needs for my make-up to go on smoothly. I would highly recommend this if you have normal/dry skin.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried a Fenty Beauty product I haven’t loved and as you can see from the photos above, there is A LOT of Fenty in this blog post. This primer is pretty much magical, it’s literally so so so good. It helps reduce the appearance of pores, evens out your skin without drying your skin out and adds glow. I mean what else do you need from a product?
This is hands down the best foundation I have ever tried and I will be repurchasing this as long as Rihanna makes this! I think as someone with Olive skin, when Rihanna came out with Fenty Beauty it was like all my prayers to finding the perfect foundation were answered and turns out they were as this foundation is a perfect colour match and is only £26 too!
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation in B45 - £35 from Boots
This foundation I think it very underrated in the beauty blogging world. I find that when I use this foundation my skin is SERIOUSLY glowy. This is the sort of foundation I would use over and over again when I’m having one of the days where I just need that little bit more of a ‘confidence’ boost I mean who wouldn’t be happy wearing YSL on their face?! If you’re looking for a foundation, which is medium coverage and makes you glow, look no further.
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre - £16 from MAC via ASOS
One of the great things that happened in 2018 was the fact that MAC came to ASOS. Like I know to some people that might not mean a lot but it meant I could get my MAC fix with next day delivery! Instead of taking 3+ days ordering online or having to go to a city for my local counter. One MAC product I always use without fail is soft ochre. I have gone through two of these and use this every morning as an eye shadow base. I would highly recommend as a pot of this lasts me about 10 months!
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter in Shade 5 - £30 from Cult Beauty
When I first picked up the Hollywood Flawless Filter I never imagined I would end up loving it as much as I do. Flawless Filter offers the imperfection-blurring benefits of a primer, the glow of a highlighter and a flawless finish all in one. I like to use this product as an ‘added’ extra in my make-up routine as boy does it make you glow. It’s literally like drops of makeup heaven in a bottle.
Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered Palette - £56 from Cult Beauty
As you can see from the above photo, I have used a few colours in this palette up completely! My favourite shade in this palette is ‘Dubai’ which is the top left shade but I also love ‘Henna’ and ‘Sandalwood’. This is a palette I reach for when I’m going on a night out and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a good quality palette to create evening looks with!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette in Soft Glam - £43 from Cult Beauty
Soft Glam is definitely my favourite of the ABH palettes as the colours in this palette are perfect for day-to-day wear. I’ve actually gone through a whole palette of these shadows. Mad right?! So this is palette number two which I picked up a few months ago when Beauty Bay had up to 50% off EVERYTHING! My favourite shades in this palette are ‘Burnt Orange’ ‘Sienna’ and ‘Glistening’ which are all completely stunning shades. If you’re looking for an everyday palette you’ll love this.
There’s another story that goes with this palette in which I bought this myself about 4/5 month ago, used this every single day and actually used up solstice, feels and spirit and luckily just before Christmas, I received a surprise package in which I got a new version of this palette! (it was a dream), you should see the battered version! If you’re a fan of brown eye shadows this is my absolute favourite palette as without fail I tend to use either this (or soft glam) on a daily basis.
YSL All Hours Concealer in Shade 4 - £23 from Boots
This concealer is SO under rated in the beauty world. I discovered this by accident, after buying this Touche Eclat foundation and I haven’t looked back. This is my second tube of this as I only tend to use this on the occasions where a cheaper concealer really doesn’t hack it (e.g when I am super tired) as this concealer is the dream at hiding under eye bags! If you’re looking for a new concealer to try, it’s hard to pick between this and the Charlotte Tilbury concealer underneath, as they are both SO good.
If you’re looking for a seriously DREAMY concealer then you need to pick yourself up this concealer from Charlotte Tilbury ASAP. I’ve written about my love for this concealer numerous times and I really do love it. This is a good concealer for covering dark circles, blemishes, pigmentation and imperfections and so it’s an all round dream!
Hands down this is the best contouring product I have EVER tried. I’m obsessed. What’s so good about Fenty Beauty is that when you go to a counter, they give you recommendations based on your skin tone across (all the products they have) not just the foundation. I was colour matched to this contour stick and it works with my skin tone SO well (surprising right?!) I have had a lot of compliments while I’ve been wearing this too. It photographs well and it’s super easy to blend with a beauty blender!
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer - £25 from ASOS
Another beauty product, which I think, doesn’t get, as much credit is this bronzer from Too Faced. I picked this up about 5/6 months ago after seeing a few bloggers rave about this for what feels like the LONGEST time. First of all, it smells like chocolate, I mean who wouldn’t love that? It’s super easy to apply with a bronzer/powder brush and the pay off isn’t too heavy, it’s very natural.
If you’ve not heard of IT Cosmetics then where have you been? The brand is developed by plastic surgeons (so you know you are getting a seriously good product) and this mascara is their best seller. This mascara is hands down the best mascara I’ve ever tried as it literally makes you look like you are wearing false lashes. This mascara adds super length and volume in just one coat! I like to layer this a couple of times when I wear it but this mascara if anything is the one thing you NEED to buy from this post. Unfortunately I haven’t repurchased this yet as I’m currently using the second mascara that features in this post…
NARS Climax Mascara - £21 from ASOS
This mascara was one of the biggest beauty launches of 2018 and when my beloved IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara ran out, I knew I had to try it and I haven’t been disappointed. From a price point of view, it’s a little more expensive than the IT Cosmetics mascara but it is in my opinion just as good. If you’re looking for a lengthening, volumising mascara, which doesn’t look clumpy, then you will LOVE this.
Benefit Gimme Brow + Volumising Brow Gel in Shade 5 - £21.50 from Boots
I was super gutted when Benefit had taken Gimme Brow off the shelves as I had to find a different brow gel to use for a while (it wasn’t great) as this product from Benefit is an absolute dream, especially for someone with dark hair! This brow gel adds depth to your brows as well as fills them in amazingly. I use this gel everyday without fail for a natural, full but not overdone brow look.
Benefit 24 Hour Brow Setter - £21.50 from Boots
If you’re looking for a brow product that sets your brows in place and they do not budge, then you need to try this. I tried this thanks to watching Jamie Genevieve YouTube videos and not looked back! This is my first tube of this brow product but I’ve nearly run out from using this every day!
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Genius Magic Powder - £33* from Feel Unique
This powder is absolutely unreal. Again, another product that I don’t think is featured enough in the beauty world, but it’s so so good. If you’re looking for a powder, which doesn’t appear ‘caked’ and literally applies so smoothly as it’s so fine. What’s good about this powder as well is that it reduces the appearance of pores too. I would highly recommend this!
Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Caramelody (number 16) - £8.99 from Boots
This is hands down my favourite lipstick of all time. I probably have about 5 of these on the go at once, mad right? I have one in each make up bag I use (my two main ones), one in my car, one in my handbag and one in my desk at work! A girls got to look glam right? This shade is my perfect ‘nude’ and it’s long lasting and I love layering this 2/3 times to give the perfect matte look but as it’s a moisturising lipstick at the same time, it doesn’t dry my lips at all. I would 100% recommend trying a lipstick from this range. I always stock up when they’re on 3 for 2 and I go through a bullet of this lipstick at least once a month!
Words can’t explain literally HOW good this product is. If you want your make-up not to move no matter what you’re doing during the day then you need to pick yourself up a bottle of this. I use this pretty much everyday and no matter the activity (even the gym) my makeup still looks the same as how I applied it that morning. I have probably gone through 4/5 of these over the past few years!
